Hello My Happy People,
In this episode of Book Banter with Dianne Burckhardt–Book Talk Podcast, I sit down with author Sylvia Clare to talk about her book Travelling the Alphabet Geographically and a life shaped by writing, travel, and personal growth. Sylvia began publishing over thirty years ago and has continued to write ever since, sharing deeply personal reflections on mental health, post-traumatic stress, nature, and love.
Her latest work follows a unique goal that turned into a lifetime of travel, visiting at least one country for every letter of the alphabet. What began as a way to escape fear and trauma gradually became something more, a way of moving toward healing, connection, and a deeper understanding of the world.
Sylvia and I are part of the same memoir writing group, so I’ve had the opportunity to see her work up close. We are both neurodivergent, which adds another layer of understanding to our conversation and to the way we approach creativity and life. Her writing is thoughtful, honest, and deeply engaging, and I’m excited to share both her story and her perspective with you.
We also talk about her work teaching mindfulness for people with neurodivergent challenges, her storytelling performances, and how creativity continues to shape her life.
This is an engaging conversation about resilience, transformation, and what it means to keep growing, no matter where you are in life.
